Preserving Paradise: Protecting Rare Native Plant Species

September 13, 2022

11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Keoki’s Paradise

2360 Kiahuna Plantation Drive Ste. 77

Koloa, HI, 96756

Learn about the natural history of the Hawaiian flora, background on the causes of rarity and threats to native biodiversity, and the current conservation status of native plants. In addition, learn about work being done by the State and its partners to survey for, monitor, collect, and preserve the rare native plants of Kaua‘i.

Every culture around the world has its own way of sharing information. Here in Hawai’i, we share informally by “talking story” — slowing down and taking time to explore ideas, stories, opinions, and history with the people around us. Join us at Keoki’s Paradise and Talk Story to Mālama O Ka ‘Āina (to respect and care for the land), an educational enrichment program cultivating the awareness of important environmental issues around Kaua‘i.

Reservation Required. Call Keoki’s Paradise in Po‘ipū at 808-742-7534 to save your spot.

Seating begins at 11 a.m. and the event will run from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with the formal presentation beginning at 11:30 a.m.
